This is one of the most significant religious festivals celebrated in Pakistan. It comes at the end of Ramadan, a holy month in which Muslims fast from dawn to dusk. Eid is the time of happiness and fun. On the morning of the festive Muslims offer a special prayer.

It is a day to remember the leaders who made sacrifices for independence and gave us an opportunity to commemorate our homeland pride.

Every July, the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan host the Shandur Polo Festival. This cultural festival of Pakistan is famous for the thrilling polo games at the highest polo ground in the world. A lot of teams from different areas come to compete, and a tonne of people fly in just to watch. Besides playing this unique polo, you will find traditional music, dance, and delicious local food.

The Kalash Festival is a special traditional festival of Pakistan, celebrated among the Kalash community who live in the Chitral Valley. They have their own unique culture and celebrate different festivals each year, like Chilam Joshi and Uchau. These festivals include traditional music, dancing, and old rituals. One of the most important traditions is to do a Haft-sin, with each item representing a different meaning on New Year. In Pakistan, Shab-e-Barat, or the Night of Forgiveness, is considered a religious festival. According to Islamic belief, God forgives the sins of those who sincerely ask for His mercy on this night. Muslims also ask for good health and a brighter future. Besides, their family members spend the night praying, reciting the Quran, and asking for Allah's mercy for them or their dead. They also visit the cemeteries and pray for their deceased relatives.

6th September, Defence Day is one of the national festivals of Pakistan. This is a day to reminisce about the soldiers who fought in its 1965 war with India. Military bases host ceremonies to remember the courage of the armed troops who offered their lives for this country.
